"Near death experiences are a part of daily life for me and a few of the others. I'm probably the only one actully used to dying, by now. But that's enough from me," Abel said, feeling that she'd spoken too much.

"No please, go on," He said, helping the others up onto a comfortable position. Once Lugganath and Asurmen had snapped out of what just happened they took flight, covering her flanks incase demons tried to ambush them. "There is no need to be reserved around me, for I have felt the pain you have."

Abel couldn't hold back a snort of disbelief. "How so?" she snapped, harsher than what she intended.

"I am a buffer to all of the pain of the world," He said, sounding not insulted in the least. "Whatever pain any being has felt, I have felt too. I take some of the pain away, making pain more bearable."

"I don't see how bleeding to death can be less painful. Or a forced transformation, but I believe you and am grateful." Abel flinched. "You can feel where I was hit, can't you?" she asked, shamefully. She never wanted to share pain. Never wanted to let others suffer with her or for her.

"But your friends want to," Desmond said to her. "They want to help yet you do not accept their help. They know the consequences, and are still willing."

"It isn't a fate anyone deserves. I've always been an others-before-myself type of person, anyway." Abel blocked the rest of her thoughts from him as a hint that she didn't want to bore him further with her life story.

"But those who wish to are either truelly good people," He said to her confidently. "Or a very big kiss ass, and trust me, I can read their motives and they're not the second."

"I'll risk whatever I need to to protect them. I try not to let them do the same because I don't believe I'm worth it."

"You are though, and I shall not have another word of otherwise." He said, sealing off his mind from hers.

Abel hissed out loud, blocked her mind as well, and resisted tilting just enough to make Desmond fall off. Suddenly, a large group of close together trees got her attention. "Hold on or fall," she thought to him. She sped up and wove between the tree trunks.

Lugganath, shrugged as he phased through the trees, but Asurmen started to weave in and out of them. "Asurmen, you do know you can phase through it right?" Desmond asked him.
"Yes," He said, phasing through a thick tree to show that he knows, only to continue the weaving. "This way is more pleasurable though."

Abel nodded once in agreement. The weaving was killing her side, but she knew if she landed she wouldn't get up for a while. However, the pain in her side was beginning to blind her. "Dad...I have to stop. I can't see where I'm going."

"Just turn back into human form, I'll carry you home." Asurmen said, flying towards her.
"Yes my dear," Lugganath said, flying beside her. "We don't want you getting any more hurt then you have already."

"I can't let Desmond fall. Unless he can fly and just wanted a ride. I..." Abel's thoughts were interupted when she hit a tree, snapping it like a twig.

"Abel!" Asurmen yelled, as he dove at her. Desmond jumped off, and onto a nearby dead branch that looked unsuitable to holding his weight. But the moment his feet touched it, the branch became full of life, and grew thick and strong. Leaves quickly grew from buds that formed.

Abel landed on her already wounded side and let out a pained roar. Her eyes closed and her body when limp before she transformed to human.

"Abel," Asurmen yelled, as he landed beside her. "Abel, are you okay?!" Desmond jumped from the branch, to beside Abel just as Lugganath landed beside her too.

Abel weakly picked up her head, but went limp again. She felt a pool of liquid form underneath her. Blood?

"She's bleeding!" Asurmen yelled to Lugganath, who was now pulling out a potion.
"Let me handle this." Desmond said, lightly pushing Lugganath to the side. He felt up and down her body for the wound. When he found it, he muttered a few words and the wound began to glow and seal itself.
